Keaton McKinney’s nearly four-year career with Prefect Game and his development as the 39
th
best prospect nationally in the 2014 class in the latest PG Class of 2014 rankings has been marked by his versatility and his consistent presence as the top Iowa prospect in the class.

It has also been marked by his aptitude as a baseball player.

When McKinney first came to a Perfect Game event as a 6-foot-3, 197-pound soon to be freshman at the 2010 Midwest Underclass Showcase in Cedar Rapids, it was quickly obvious that he had the chance to become a special prospect. Not only was he absurdly strong for a 14-year old, he was equally coordinated. I distinctly recall Perfect Game President Jerry Ford saying at the time that “this might be the next Iowa Perfect Game All-American.”
