A Look At The Top States For Producing High School Talent

Here's a very unscientific view of the 50 states and this year's draft class. The 1st Column (Column A) is a rough order of how many draft picks the different states have produced over the past 5 years. The 2nd column is an estimate of how states rank by estimating number of "1st day" draft picks this coming June. It is followed by the differential in ranking from (Column A). The 3rd Column is a state ranking based on an estimate of projected early (top 5 round) picks, followed again with the difference from (Column A). Looking at these numbers, one can tell that we believe states like Tennessee, Wisconsin, Missouri, etc. will have a greater than normal class. What it doesn't show is that this is one of the best classes ever in Georgia. That is because Georgia, though closing the gap, is still behind the top 3. This graph is for entertainment value only. The truth will surface this coming June.
