Series of the week breakdown

Kendall Rogers

We’re at a great point in the college baseball season, where outstanding conference matchups headline the schedule every weekend.

While many eyeballs will be on the terrific Southeastern Conference series between LSU and Vanderbilt this weekend, the matchup between No. 6 North Carolina State and No. 2 Florida State earns the billing as the PG National Series of the Week.

Without further ado, here’s an in-depth breakdown of the matchups in this series.

STARTING PITCHING

North Carolina State has arguably the nation’s top pitcher in imposing left-handed hurler Carlos Rodon, along with a pair of good starting pitchers in red-hot Logan Jernigan and talented lefty Brad Stone, who’s off to a nice start. Meanwhile, the Seminoles have been boosted by righty Luke Weaver evolving into an elite prospect, while lefty Brandon Leibrandt is a good role pitcher, and the return of righty Mike Compton has been integral to FSU’s success on the mound early this season.
