The exciting Perfect Game summer circuit never seems to end.

For the past few weeks, several outstanding summer teams from all parts of the country competed in various World Wood Bat Association and BCS tournaments.

Now, that action culminates with the 16 best summer league teams, as selected by PG, competing this week in what is dubbed the Perfect Game World Series.

As certainly expected, the first day of action was ultra exciting with several players, especially Stanford 2013 commit, right-handed pitcher Tyler Thorne, shining with a 13-strikeout performance in a win.

As we did with previous tournaments, we will spend time each day dissecting the performances of all noteworthy Division I commits, also including scouting notes.

We take an in-depth look back at Tuesday's PGWS action.

Houston Banditos 4, Indiana Prospects 3

-- Texas A&M 2013 commit, OF Nick Banks, has had a good summer, and continued his successful ways in the PGWS opener, going 1-for-3 with a double and an RBI.

-- Texas A&M 2013 commit, RHP Mark Ecker, put together an interesting performance for the Banditos. He struck out nine, walked eight, and allowed three runs on two hits in 6 1/3 innings of work. Stuff-wise, he was 88-92 FB, 71-75 CV, 75-80 SL and 80 CH. Displayed good arm action.
