Texas could soon have an incredible offensive lineup if some divine intervention takes place between now and next summer.

The Longhorns haven’t exactly been known for their offensive prowess the past few seasons, but that might change should they get at least a few of their talented position players from the 2012 recruiting class to show up on campus next fall.

Actually accomplishing that goal is much easier said than done.

“We’re extremely excited about the position players we signed, but you never want to get too excited about them until they actually show up on campus. They’re pretty talented,” Texas recruiting coordinator Tommy Harmon said. “We definitely could lose a few of these position guys, but you never know. We didn’t think Kyle Russell or Jordan Danks would end up in college, and they did. We’ll see what happens.”

What an impressive crop of position players the Longhorns signed. Outfielders Courtney Hawkins and Nick Williams, shortstop C.J. Hinojosa and catcher Wyatt Mathisen spearhead the Longhorns’ position player signees.
