June 2 National Rankings

Archbishop McCarthy (FL) is the new #1 team in this week's Top 50 National Rankings. The Mavericks won the 4A Florida State title over Lance McCullers and Tampa Jesuit Tuesday, and that, coupled with Huntington Beach Edison (CA) loss in the CIF Playoffs vaulted the Mavericks into the top spot.

McCarthy is followed by Oklahoma 6A champ Broken Arrow at #2, Utah 4A champ Spanish Fork at #3, Oklahoma 6A runner-up Owasso at #4, and  Bishop Gorman, winner of sixth straight Nevada 4A titles.

Three other state champions are part of the top 10: Georgia AAAA champion Marist is #6, Arizona 5A Division 1 title-winner Mountain Pointe is #8, and Florida 3A champion Bishop Verot is up to #9.

Columbus (GA) won its second straight AAA championship and vaults to #13, Maize (KS) completed an undefeated season and is #18, while Farragut claimed another Tennessee state title and is up to #19.

Holly Springs (NC) enters the National Rankings for the first time this season at #35, fresh off winning the 4A East title. They are taking on #38 TC Roberson, the 4A West champion, who are also making their rankings debut, in a three game series to decide the 4A title.

Parkview (GA) is back in the rankings for the first time since the preseason poll after winning the AAAAA title over Hillgrove. Other new additions are Long Beach Wilson (CA) at 39, Francis Howell (MO) at 41, Regis Jesuit (CO) at 45, Jonathan Alder (OH) at 47, and Mount Si (WA) at 50.
