It’s safe to say Troy’s NCAA postseason hiatus will end barring a huge surprise the rest of the regular season.

When the Trojans made back-to-back postseason appearances in 2006 and ’07, it was thought the program was destined to become one of the nation’s premier mid-majors for the long term with solid coach Bobby Pierce leading the way.

Troy, though, deviated somewhat from its grand plan and hasn’t reached the postseason since its ’07 trip to the Oxford, Miss., Regional.

At 19-4 this spring with already a marquee series win over Southern Mississippi, the Sun Belt leader is expected to return to the postseason with slugger Adam Bryant and starting pitcher Tyler Ray as the headliners.

The Trojans and 24 others are on the cusp of the PG Top 25 this week.
