Position Players in Top 50 to Watch at The Panama City Juco Classic:

PG500 RK/NAME/SCHOOL

1. Michael Mullinax Chipola: Highly touted switch hitting OF with all the tools. UGA transfer

12. Topher Jones Pearl River: Former QB1, SS that profiles best at 3B. Reliable middle of the order bat. Lacks a loud tool but the card still looks solid across the board. MSST transfer.

13. Augusto Mungarrieta NWF: Huge performer at smaller JC in 2024. Got tons of praise from opposing coaches as one of the most dangerous hitters in the country.

22. Devin Mitchell Flo-Dar:.399 hitter with 12 pumps and a bunch of bags in 2024. Looks the part. NC State commit.

24. Ira Jeffries Harris NWF: Switch hitting MIF with some juice. Track record producer. Some questions about defensive fit.

29. Jack Reynolds Gulf Coast: .369 with 19 XBHs as a frosh. Midle of the field athlete, committed to the Gamecocks.

37. Sam Parker Chipola: Rhythmic left-handed stroke with thump. Very good bat to ball for the profile. Long track record here, hit as a prep and in his freshman season at Chipola. Mizzou commit.

40. AJ Malzone Wabash Valley: Left-handed hitting catcher with serious juice. Batted .372 as a frosh with 33 BB to only 19 Ks

44. Josiah Seguin Chipola: 6’4 switch hitting middle infielder with tools. William and Mary transfer.

46. Josh Campos Flo-Dar: Electric freshman season a year ago. Batted .368 with 24 XBHs and 29 swipes.

47. JC Vanek Chipola: One of the nation’s best left-handed bats, lacks the athletic profile but the offensive skillset will have a huge impact.

Troy’s Champion Pick: Gulf Coast

While the Commodores may not have the best pure roster at the PCB Juco Classic, they have the track record of doing what it takes to bring home the trophy. Head coach Tyler Younger and staff always come out of the gate strong, and this year should be no different with an experienced and well-rounded roster. South Carolina commit, Jack Reynolds will look to impact games offensively while letting their bevy of premium Juco arms (Ezequiel Rojas, Cooper Whited, Reese Marcum, and Jordan Martinez) limit the runs at the hitter-friendly Publix Sports Complex.

Blaine's Champion Pick: Florence-Darlington

The Stingers will bring a blend of high-end pitching & offensive talent to the PCB College Baseball Classic this year. On the mound sophomore Mike Joyce (VCU) and Logan Prisco (South Carolina) will lead the staff this weekend and presumably all year. Joyce is a physical presence on the mound and may very well be one of junior college baseballs hardest throwers. While Prisco is a talented freshman LHP that should be among the top freshman arms at the junior college level in 2025. Both made the top 100 of our beginning of season JUCO Top 500 prospects list. They’ll be joined by three other pitchers to make that top 500 list in right handers Zeph Arnold, Alex Miller, and Asher Goss. Florence-Darlington will bring two experienced hitters we have as top 50 JUCO players this year in outfielders Devin Mitchell (NC State) and Josh Campos (Liberty). Both hit over .350 a season ago and bring a blend of speed/power to the lineup. Transfer catcher Drake Amick and shortstop Diego Garcia who was a Puerto Rico National Team player also made our beginning of season top 500. This team has high level talent, depth of talent and experienced players. That gives them as good of a chance as anyone to become champions this year at PCB.

Cam's Projected Pick: Chipola

Chipola comes into another year with sky high expectations and bring in one of the most talented rosters in the country, led by #1 player in the JUCO ranks in Michael Mullinax. They also return two of their better bats from a season ago in Sam Parker and JC Vanek. They also landed one of the top arms in Arkansas transfer Jack Smith along with landing one of the top middle infielders in the Midwest from the high school ranks in Colin Guerra. That gives them five of the top-100 players in the country, making them an easy choice to get the season off to a fast start in Panama City.
