During an early November weekend, the sun was shining on the athletes and fans at the Loretta B. Smith Showcase in Loveland, Colorado. Kicking up chalk and dust, the athletes took the field with excitement and energy to display their talents. Athletes hailing from multiple states exhibited their speed, power, and strength to compete for the championship title.
16U Division
Rylan Borth (2026) of American Freedom-Courson is a speedy outfielder who utilizes her agility on both sides of the ball. With quick hips driving her swing, Camryn finds holes in the infield, and implements the short game, giving her an opportunity to set the pace on the basepaths. Defensively, a quick first step gives her an advantage, making plays on any ball hit her way.
From Wyoming, Addison Dale-Geiger (2026) is strong in the circle and at the plate for the Wyoming Mystix-Kelley. Addison slings the ball with consistent upspin and works both sides of the plate with her curveball. In the batter’s box, she hits with power to all fields, with a high slugging percentage and an opposite field home run during this weekend’s competition.
Going undefeated in pool play, the EC Coyotes Espinoza boasted a one-two punch with Aurelia Espinoza (2026) and Braelyn Allison (2026). On the mound, Espinoza mixes speeds with her sinking change-up that keeps hitters off balance leading to her 93 strikeouts during her recent high school season. She also saw time at short stop giving her an opportunity to showcase her athleticism. She leads the lineup for the Coyotes, hitting .518, which sets the tone offensively for the rest of her team. Her counterpart behind the plate, Braelyn Allison, displays well-developed footwork and blocking ability. Combined with her pop-time of 1.9 sec, she’s a threat to any base runner.
Addison Weisenauer (2026) leads the Firecrackers Gale/Randall 16u with a .456 batting average and .532 on base percentage. She has a large toolbox at the plate leading to her impressive numbers, utilizing well placed bunts and gap to gap power. Her athleticism is showcased at both shortstop and catcher. She is a leader in the infield, taking control in key moments of the game.
Icela Ciocarlan (2025) for the Prodigy gets her sturdy frame behind the ball producing a .340 batting average and 20 RBIs during her high school season. With a 2.4 second pop time and an aggressive arm behind the plate, Icela makes baserunners think twice before looking to steal.
The Colorado Batbusters has a clutch player in Myah Becker (2027). She’s a threat at the plate, hitting .327 in her debut high school season. Her long extension through the ball allows her to hit to all fields. She’s versatile defensively, earning time in the infield, outfield, and on the mound throughout the weekend.
Nikiah Light (2027) propelled the Colorado Bombers to a first-place finish over the weekend. She’s a dependable third baseman with good overhand throwing velocity and quick feet, eliminating her opponents’ short game. She attacks each pitch with an aggressive approach at the plate and a powerful swing driven from her lower half, hitting .509 in her most recent high school season.
The Colorado Wild- Henneke played strong on Sunday and were led by Zeta Gattis (2027). Zeta looks to drive the ball early in counts and hits for power with a home run and several extra base hits over the weekend. Her hitter’s mentality led her to a .417 batting average and an on base percentage of .449 during her high school season. Her aggressiveness translates to her defensive approach, making several diving plays to take away potential extra bases from her opponents.
Lucy Retzer (2026) a shortstop for the Colorado Angels 16u A Becker squad flaunted her competitive demeanor this weekend. During her most recent high school season, she scored 18 runs with 16 RBIs in 24 games. She is relentless on defense, not letting any ball to the outfield without an all-out effort.
18U Division
Lanae Kimbley (2026 Gillette, WY) – Wicked, plays anywhere also can play first base. 2025 hits with power, has good speed, very aggressive on base paths, very high on base percentage. She leads team in walks, stolen bases and home runs. Very athletic young lady.
Paige Shaffer (2025 Gillette, WY) – Wicked, utility player, athletic build, she hits with power keeps hands inside ball well, barrels ball up very well. She throws 56-58 ball moves well, good cut on her drop and screwball. Moves ball around hits spots well. Can play any defensive position on the field.
Danica Shawver (2025 Gillette, WY) Β– Wicked, plays mostly first base. Has a powerful build. Hits with power uses lower half of body well to explode through the ball. Plays good defense picked ball well at first base. Smooth flow to ball.
Peytann Weiland (2024 Aurora, CO) Untouchables, plays second base and catcher. She is a three-hole hitter who has power and gap to gap capability. Very coachable and really takes in information when being coached. Weiland also boasts a strong arm and covers ground at catcher and second base.
Gracie Briggs (2026 Colorado City, CO) – Great teammate, high softball IQ. Plays the corners and can play middle infield. She has cat like instincts with a great glove on defense. Briggs boasts a strong and accurate arm. Hits with power, gap to gap very good speed and instincts on base paths and will take the extra base. Overall, she is a versatile athlete with a great combination of quickness and power.
Marisa Reyes (2025 Colorado Springs, CO) – Right-handed pitcher and true utility player. One of the most gifted athletes at the tournament. Small in stature, large heart. Not afraid to lay out and make the play in the infield or outfield. Great soft hands when fielding. Hits for power and average. Uses the entire field and showcases very good speed. Pitching consistently 58-60, she throws a screwball, drop ball, rise ball, and changeup. Hits her spots well with good movement.
Robyn Foster (2024 Colorado Springs, CO) – First base R/R. Hits the ball with a great deal of power. Doesn’t get cheated with her swings. Saw her hit one 290’ in first game of tourney. Defensively good hands, picks ball well at first. Solid fielder with a high softball IQ.
Danica Unger (2025 Colorado Springs, CO) – Right-handed pitcher, first base, outfielder. She’s a patient hitter that commands the zone. 5’10” gap to gap hitter with good speed and knowledge of the game. Has good break on her pitches. Hits her spots well.
Liliana Montoya (2025 Albuquerque, NM) – NM Suncasts. Right handed pitcher, corner. She’s throwing 58-62 and shows a great combination of power and movement. Consistently good rise ball that hops really well, getting hitters to bite. Her drop and screwball both work well and make her a very well rounded pitcher. Very focused and poised on the mound with a great poker face. Great team player. Also has the potential on offense to change a game with her power potential and strength.
Gabriella Casco (2024 Rio Rancho, NM) – NM Suncasts. First base/ third base. A real team leader on and off the field. 4.0 GPA. Team motivator. Hits with power and also a gap-to-gap hitter with good speed. Excellent hands on the field and with the bat. Her leadership really helped her team win the championship and go through the tourney undefeated.
Grace Medina (2024 Rio Rancho, NM) – NM Suncasts. Catcher/ utility. Can play anywhere on the field will always give 100%. Always has a great attitude. Can hit for power. She is very quick. She can also play small ball. A very smart and aggressive base runner. Blocks well behind the plate. A gifted fielder that covers a lot of ground.
Emilee Sirdoreus (2024 Laramie, WY) – Lighting catcher R/R. Hits for power, hit .545 for the tourney with one homerun. Has a very high game I.Q. Very good catcher for the lightning. Controls the defense and is a steady force for her pitchers. Very patient hitter who attacks her pitches.
Haley Loya (2024 Laramie, WY) – Lighting, Center fielder. A gifted and athletic outfielder that covers a lot of ground and has good speed. Vocal leader on the field and in the dugout, she is a true spark plug for her team. Contact hitter that uses the entire field. She hit .500 for the weekend with five runs scored. Awarded two player of the games during the tournament.
Davanee Hodges (2026 Laramie, WY) – A strong shortstop who hit .455 for the tournament. Davanee has a short, quick path to ball, hits for average, and sprays ball to all fields. Exceptional base runner, aggressive and smart. Good glove and covers a lot of ground due to a quick first step and solid reads. Above average arm strength. Leader on the field.
