Fall National Championship Scout Notes: Day 1

Ace Sapp (2027, Las Vegas, NV). This has been my second look at Sapp this year and I’ve come away impressed both times. There’s a lot to be excited about as he’s a projectable and athletic CF that made a ton of loud contact at the plate throughout the weekend. He was 7-for-17 with 4 extra base hits. The hands are loose and quick with flashes of twitch through the zone where he uses a controlled barreled tip at launch and turns the barrel fast with intent to catch it out front. There’s adv. power to the pullside but also showed he can drive balls to the big part of the yard. His defense out in CF also stood out where he gets good jumps/reads off the bat where I saw him catch a couple of difficult balls with ease
