Levi Maddela (2023, Wailuku, Hawaii) showed why he is the top-ranked player in the state of Hawaii. He looked comfortable anywhere on the field, from the mound, the box, and at first base. He showed off the barrel control and bat-to-ball skills, going 4-for-10 with a home run over the tournament. Showcased an easy swing that drove baseballs to all fields with a level swing path and good power. He used his athletic 6-foot-1, 210-pound frame well and showcased good footwork and arm strength defensively at first base. On the mound he impressed with his fastball that got up to 85 and was 82-83 during a combined five innings. He also mixed in a good 12/6 curveball that helped him get nine strikeouts total. He also showed good ability to to miss the hitter’s bat only allowing two hits, although he struggled with control allowing four walks and with runners on base allowing four runs to score. High upside player who projects better as a first baseman with an above average bat but showed good left-handed pitcher upside.
