Ohio Valley Qualifier Scout Notes

The second annual Ohio Valley Qualifier, held in the greater Cincinnati area, had another successful run this past weekend with Team Ohio Pro Select earning the coveted bid to the WWBA World Championship in Jupiter. For even more content, check out @PG_OhioValley on Twitter! 
 

FB21-Brewers had a 2-2 weekend, but had some of the more talented players in attendance all the same. Colton Hartman (2023, Lebanon, Ohio) got the start opening night for the Brewers and was literally perfect, not allowing a single baserunner over 4 innings, all the Brewers needed to complete the run-rule victory. Hartman struck out 10 and was for all intents and purposes totally untouchable. He’s an athletic lefty with some size and projection to him, and the jump in stuff over the course of the last year is very notable. He touched 89 mph in this outing, holding upper-80s throughout with good life on the pitch, exploding through the zone. His curveball and changeup have likewise both seen improvement, with the curveball showing sharper and tighter bite with the changeup thrown with better arm speed and conviction. Hartman is a Louisville commit.
