Chase DeLauter, OF, James Madison (2022) | Orleans Firebirds 
Dates Observed: 6/21, 6/26, 6/27, 7/14
 
One of the top players in the circuit, DeLauter has showcased legitimate double-plus power in games so far this summer. In fact, DeLauter has hit more balls 95+ than not over the first several weeks. It’s all-fields power as he’ll go pole-to-pole in his best batting practice rounds. It’s an athletic setup at the plate as he employs a narrow base before pronating his front foot as a trigger mechanism. It’s plus bat speed, with leverage and natural loft. 
 
In the field, DeLauter’s best position is center field. Despite not being a plus runner, DeLauter takes smart and efficient routes and shows natural instincts at the position. He has a plus arm that’s been clocked up to 95 mph from the outfield. He’s also spent some time in a relief role during the spring with JMU, as well as a few relief appearances down the Cape.
