Conor Grady, RHP, Florida State

Grady had a dominant outing on the hill Sunday afternoon, tossing seven innings while only allowing two runs and striking out nine. The righty had full command of his fastball-slider combo and did not surrender any walks.

Grady had the best stuff I have seen from him in any past viewings. His fastball sat 90-92 mph with moderate arm-side run and he held velocity through the entire outing. He threw his slider more frequently than his heater. The pitch was tight with short break at 80-84 mph and tunneled well off the fastball. Grady also mixed in a changeup at 81-83 mph with heavy fade but missed with it arm side for the most part. The righty repeats his delivery well and works into a long arm swing before releasing from a three-quarters slot.

The key to Grady’s success comes down to his slider and how consistent the bite is. He had it working Sunday and hitters couldn’t square it up even when they knew it was coming. The fourth-year junior should hear his name called within the top-10 rounds come July.
