Twelve Baseball Captures South WS Title

In championship action James Ellwanger (2023, Magnolia, Texas) for Twelve Baseball 2023 Maroon faced off against Texas Twelve Black 2023s own Brayden Gilley (2023, Deer Park, Texas) and they would both be impressive.

After a scoreless second inning for Ellwanger and Gilley, Ellwanger would strike out the side in the top of the third. His fastball would top out at 84 mph and he would have five punch outs through three innings of work. Gilley, who was up to 83 mph, would match Ellwanger for a scoreless third inning. The scoreless matchup would remain the same through six innings.



Ellwanger lasted 5 2/3 innings, allowed two hits and fanned 10.

Gilley outing would last 6 1/3 innings while allowing five hits and striking out two.

Kendall George (2023, Humble, Texas) would collect the first knock of the game with a line drive single to center field in the bottom of the first. Sam Myers (2023, Cypress, Texas)) would get Twelve Baseball 2023 Maroons second hit in the bottom of the fourth inning with a double to right field. Carter Groen (2023, Sienna Plantation, Texas) would get Texas Twelve Black 2023 first hit in the top of the fifth inning with a single up the middle. Myers would again double in the bottom of the seventh inning making him 2-3 with a run scored. Myers hit .588 through six games.

The game would remain scoreless until the bottom of the seventh inning when Twelve Baseball 2023 Maroon would score a run via a bases loaded walk to win the 2020 15U South World Series in Tomball, Texas.
