Florida Select Champs. Scout Notes

Chris Davila (2024, Jacksonville, Fla.) has put together an impressive summer and continued that here again in Fort Myers in his transition to a wood bat event. The approach is a mature one hitting near the top of the Dodgers Scout Team order as he recognizes pitches early out of the hand and can take a walk when it’s given. What he does with the bat is what stands out as he controls the barrel head well, adjusting his hands to get it to different parts of the zone and create good contact all over the field. He is showing the ability to elevate the ball a bit more to the pull side now as the summer has gone on which is a good sign as he continues to develop more strength in the swing. The comfortability he plays with at shortstop is well advanced, and it is exciting to watch him move around the dirt each time out.
