National Showcase headed to Hoover, AL

Cedar Rapids, Iowa: Perfect Game has announced that the historic National Showcase, as well and the Junior National Showcase, both to be held at the Hoover Met Stadium and Sports Complex in Hoover, Alabama. 

The 20th Annual Perfect Game National Showcase will take place June 17-21 and will once again be a platform for the elite athletes heading into their final year of high school. This event has evolved into one of the most respected of its kind in all of amateur baseball. The ’21 class will take part in an event with a history that features 404 Major League Baseball alumni and 2,493 athletes selected in the MLB Draft.  

The Perfect Game Junior National Showcase will be held June 21-25 and will provide an incredible opportunity for some of the top sophomores and juniors in North America. The invitation-only event allows the athlete, family, college coaches and scouts to gain perspective on where he stands amongst his peers.

Key notes on National and Junior National:

· The alumni list includes MLB MVPs Joey Votto, Andrew McCutchen, Buster Posey, Kris Bryant, Christian Yelich and Cody Bellinger. Rookie of the Year Award winners include Jeremy Hellickson, Wil Myers, Jose Fernandez, Carlos Correa, Corey Seager, Pete Alonso, Bellinger, Bryant and Posey. 
· In 2019, 35 players selected in day one of the MLB Draft (first two rounds) had attended the National Showcase.
· The National Showcase plays a key role in determining the rosters for the Perfect Game All-American Classic.
· There will be extensive coverage, streaming and video-on-demand of the Junior National and National Showcase on PerfectGame.TV, a brand new amateur sports network.
· The ’20 National Showcase was originally scheduled to take place at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Florida, and relocated based on uncertainty in upcoming MLB scheduling.
