The high school notebook is designed to share notes and video on players that stand out during the high school season and new features will be released regularly. This will include in-game looks, reports, analysis and video from Perfect Game's scouting staff. If you have news on a player in your area that is performing at a high level that we should have eyes on please reach out to Vinnie Cervino at vincent@perfectgame.org. Also feel free to share your video highlights on Twitter @vcervinopg.

Alejandro Rosario, rhp, Miami Christian (FL)
Really firm stuff to open the year from the Perfect Game All American.  Rosario sat 94-97 mph in his 50-pitch outing.  He has a lightning-quick arm with little effort to produce such high velocity, especially from his slender frame.  He maintained the velocity while throwing a lot of quality strikes.  He faced a deep line-up, who made him work and drove his pitch count up quickly.  The Miami Hurricane signee put in some work to improve his slider during the preseason.  Of the handful he threw, two sliders flashed plus at 84 mph to give you a glimpse of the secondaries' potential as he gains consistency.  There was some talk about the future profile, but his delivery has cleaned up and he is repeating it better making you dream on him starting long term.  The durability and off-speed will be the deciding factors as the season progresses to where he could potentially be picked in June.  Regardless if he ends up playing professional ball or in Coral Gables, the arm talent is real.
