Texahoma Region: Oklahoma, Texas

The Texahoma Region is regularly dominated by Texas high school talent, but this is the year for Oklahoma to assert itself. 2011 has always been regarded as the top year for Oklahoma prep prospects, as future big league righthanders Dylan Bundy, Archie Bradley, Michael Fulmer and Adrian Houser were all taken within the first 69 picks, with Bundy and Bradley going in the first seven picks. But the 2020 class might surpass that group. Five Oklahoma products are featured on the Texahoma Dream Team and that doesn’t even include PG All-American Dax Fulton (Mustang HS), who underwent Tommy John surgery in September and will miss the spring season while remaining a potential day one draft.

There are always hard-throwing right handed pitchers from Texas and this year is no exception, with Jared Kelley and Maysn Winn among the nation’s elite arms and Cam Brown being not far behind. The real strength of Texas prep baseball, however, lies in the 2021 class, which features three-quarters of the Dream Team infield, plus a deep pool of talented pitchers.

C – Drew Romo
Romo has been a standout behind the plate ever since switching positions from shortstop as an eighth grader. The switch-hitter is a two-year starter on the USA Baseball 18u National Team and the highest-ranked catcher in the PG class rankings at 18th overall. Romo is signed with Louisiana State but has a chance to be one of the few high school catchers to be picked in the first round of the draft.
