WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – As the 2019 WWBA Freshman World Championship runs from Oct. 11-14, 76 of the top freshman squads in the country will descend upon West Palm Beach, Fla. to play for a title.

Just about every corner of the country will be represented in West Palm Beach for the seventh rendition of the WWBA Freshman Worlds, with teams from Florida, New York, California, Texas, Indiana, and most places in between fielding teams in the tournament. There will also be teams from Canada and Puerto Rico in attendance.

52 of the top 100 players in the 2023 class are rostered for the tournament, including 16 of the top 20 and seven of the top 10 prospects in the class.

5 Star National 2023 Dobbs boasts quite a bit of that top-end talent, as five of the top 20 prospects in the class will all be in that same dugout.

Ethan Robinson, the No. 3 overall prospect and top righthanded pitching prospect in the class, headlines the group. The No. 3 outfielder and No. 10 overall player, Drew Burress, will be a mainstay in the middle of the lineup along with No. 12 prospect Blake Grimmer and No. 16 prospect Trenton Lape, a shortstop and third baseman, respectively. Riley Jackson, the No. 2 catching prospect in the class, will be the team’s backstop.

The squad just got done playing at the WWBA Sophomore World Championship in Fort Myers from Sept. 27-30, where they played up an age level. They tied atop their pool with a 2-0-1 record, won a first round playoff matchup against Elite Squad NY, and bowed out in the second round to eventual runners-up FTB Tucci 2022 in a one-run contest.

5 Star National 2023 Dobbs will be in Pool B along with Southern Squeeze 2023, Baseball U Prospects, and FL Aces.

USA Prime National 15u is another team with an incredible amount of front-end talent, boasting seven of the top 51 prospects in the class, according to Perfect Game.

Outfielder Derrick Mitchell is the top-ranked prospect on the team, sitting at No. 7 overall. He is followed by middle infielder Walter Ford (No. 15), shortstop Austen Roellig (No. 19), catcher Nikolas Sanders (No. 21), shortstop Steven Milam (No. 26), first baseman Jackson McKenzie (No. 34), and righthanded pitcher Chris Smith (No. 51).

Clearly, opposing pitchers will have their hands full with the USA Prime National lineup with all those highly-ranked bats.

Pool A will house USA Prime National 15u, along with MVP Beast 2023, Canes American 15u, and Power Baseball 2023 White.

As much talent as there is on the two rosters of 5 Star National 2023 Dobbs and USA Prime National 2023, the top-10 talent is relatively spread out in the tournament, which makes for an exciting weekend.

No. 2 overall 2023 prospect Aidan Miller, the top prospect at the event, is a third baseman playing for Top Tier Roos American 2023. Third baseman Cam Collier (No. 4 overall) will be playing for MLB Breakthrough Series 2023. TayShaun Walton, an outfielder and No. 5 prospect, plays for the Richmond Braves 15u National. Braden Holcomb, another third baseman, is ranked No. 9 and will play for Power Baseball 2023.

Walton is another 2023 prospect, along with some of the players on 5 Star National 2023 Dobbs, that played up for the WWBA Sophomore Worlds. Walton looked as though he was playing down an age division though, as he towered over most everyone there and hit .455 for the tournament.
