PERFECT GAME ANNOUNCES PARTNERSHIP WITH JK SPORTS,
NOW JK SPORTS POWERED BY PERFECT GAME,
TO OFFER SOFTBALL EVENTS IN THE MIDWEST

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – Perfect Game is pleased to announce a partnership with JK Sports to take JK Sports softball offerings to the next level.  JK Sports was founded by Chris Johnson of Burlington, Iowa, and Mike Kerr of Mount Pleasant, Iowa, in 2017 to host softball tournaments in the Midwestern region.  Their mission was to foster youth growth for individuals and teams both personally and athletically, while promoting team building skills, family fun and providing quality trained umpires and unique awards.  Further, JK Sports has been committed to giving back, contributing and raising funds for various organizations.

Jerry Ford, Founder and President of Perfect Game stated “Perfect Game is launching into the competitive Softball Space and we believe the acquisition of JK Sports is an excellent start and just phase one of our plan to become a leader in amateur softball. The owners of JK Sports will fit in nicely at Perfect Game as they share our hardworking work ethic and spirit and have a passion for the sport and the kids that participate in softball.”

Brad Clement, CEO of Perfect Game added, “We are aware of the excellent reputation Mike Kerr and Chris Johnson have developed in Iowa, close to where Perfect Game was started. We believe the power and infrastructure of Perfect Game will complement and serve as a catalyst for growth of JK Sports. Co-Director Mike Kerr said, “The synergies and alignment between JK Sports and Perfect Game makes this an ideal relationship.  Chris Johnson and I started out as two umpires with a love for softball and desire to produce quality softball tournaments.  We have always been focused on the kids, the families, the coaches, the fans and the love of softball bringing everyone together for a mutually rewarding experience.  Jerry Ford created Perfect Game to give kids more visibility to college coaches and pro scouts.  Perfect Game has phenomenal resources, facilities and connections.  Perfect Game’s Prospect Meadows located in Cedar Rapids is a top-notch complex and we are going to be able to host softball tournaments there.  The resources opening up to us is going to be huge for our young ladies.”

Co-Director of JK Sports Chris Johnson echoed Kerr, stating, “This is all about the young ladies, families, coaches, teams.  We are committed to doing what JK Sports has been doing for the past two years bigger and better, in a more impactful way.  We are building to give our players exposure to college coaches and pro scouts. This will afford them the opportunity to earn scholarships and offer greater playing opportunities, like Perfect Game has been doing for baseball players - and all of our participants will be contributing to their communities.  We have gotten to see Perfect Game’s contributions to baseball and American youth from different perspectives and are thrilled to be partnered to do the same now for Softball.”

JK Sports has been in business since 2017.  They have hosted 30+ quality amateur events in Iowa annually with an estimated 11,000 youth participating from Chicago, Illinois; Kansas City, Missouri; Kansas City, Kansas; Omaha, Nebraska; and St. Louis, Missouri.  Their larger tournaments have included "Kiss the Cup Invitational Softball Tournament" and "Stuff the Cupboards” (a benefit tournament where a portion of the proceeds as well donated food items are given to a local food pantry).  The partnership with Perfect Game will allow for further expansion into Illinois and Missouri to provide opportunities for more youth interested in competitive softball programs.
