Asa Lacy, Texas A&M
Asa Lacy for the Texas A&M Aggies was fresh and coming off a week off of pitching due to suspension as he was absolutely dominant in his start against Florida, especially in the early innings. Lacy featured a fastball that reaches the mid-90s and is able to hold that velocity throughout. Sitting 93-95 mph for the majority of his start while showcasing the ability to reach back for more when he needed it, Lacy also mixed in a sweeping curveball that showed above average and a plus changeup. He seemed more comfortable throwing the curveball while the changeup was the better and more effective of the two secondary pitches. Lacy’s first four innings looked like he was going to go deep into the game before running into some trouble in the fifth inning and exiting in the sixth.
