Dynamic Duos - Champions

Jupiter Dynamic Duos: Round 1 | Round 2 | Round 3 | Round 4 | Championship

The official Dynamic Duo Bracket polls are closed, and a champion has been crowned! Marcus Stroman and Mike Trout prevailed over all other alumni as we celebrate the 20th Anniversary of the WWBA World Championship. Representing the 2009 HS Class, Stroman and Trout edged out the other competitors through four challenging rounds, before defeating Zack Greinke and Joey Votto in the championship. 



Marcus Stroman and Mike Trout were picked to be the best Dynamic Duo, combined by HS Class, out of the thousands of elite players who have participated in the PG WWBA World Championship. They are just two of the 14,659 alumnus to receive a scholarship offer, two out of the 4,912 players to be selected in the MLB Draft, and two out of the 719 players who have logged time in the MLB. 

As the 2018 WWBA World Championship continues in Jupiter, FL, we look forward to finding the next Dynamic Duo.

Here is what Kenny Gardner had to say about the champions in his analysis of each Dynamic Duo: 

Marcus Stroman and Mike Trout

Marcus Stroman made his Perfect Game event debut in 2007 in Beacon, New York during the Sunshine Northeast Showcase. A two-way prospect early in his career before arriving at Duke, where he began concentrating on pitching, Stroman thrived during his collegiate career and owns the Duke record for career strikeouts (290). Coming out of Duke Stroman was tabbed as one of the most MLB-ready players, taking him just 1 1/2 years in the minors before making his big league debut for the Blue Jays in 2014. Stroman showed his two-way roots as he captured a Gold Glove in 2017 and also earned the MVP at the World Baseball Classic earlier that year.

Mike Trout was a veteran player of the Perfect Game tournaments coming through the circuit with the Tri-State Arsenal organization. During his illustrious high school career Trout set the New Jersey single season home run record with 18 long balls. After two and half season in the minor leagues, Trout continuously makes the 20-plus teams who passed on him wanting a redo. Trout is a seven-time All-Star and made an immediate splash as the 2012 Rookie of the Year before capturing two MVPs (2014 and 2016) and shows no signs of slowing down.
