2019 MLB Draft: Raw Draft Order

For the second time in the history of the Major League Baseball Draft (which began in 1965) the Baltimore Orioles will have the No. 1 overall pick after enduring one of the worst seasons in history to finish 47-115. Their 47 wins, and .290 win percentage, is the worst in MLB since the Detroit Tigers went 43-119 (.265) in 2003.

McDonald enjoyed a nine-year MLB career after his impressive three-year career at LSU, which was capped by him winning the Golden Spikes Award in 1989. After his college career he went 78-70 with a 3.91 ERA in seven years with the Orioles and two more with the Brewers and is currently a college baseball analyst on ESPN.

The 2019 MLB Draft will take place Monday-Wednesday, June 3-5. Stay tuned to Perfect Game for updates to the draft order as those changes are determined.

Tie-breakers for teams that finished with the exact same record/winning percentage are awarded to the team that finished with the worse record the previous season. Changes to the draft order due to free agent signings will be reflected once teams start signing players in the offseason.

• Carter Stewart, 8th overall selection – the Braves will be awarded the 9th overall pick in the 2019 draft
• Matt McLain, 25th overall selection – the Diamondbacks will be awarded the 26th overall pick in the 2019 draft
• J.T. Ginn, 30th overall selection – the Dodgers will be awarded the 31st overall pick in the 2019 draft
• Gunnar Hoglund, 36th overall selection – the Pirates will be awarded the 37th overall pick in the 2019 draft
