5/6 Game Recaps

8:00AM- PBA Outlaws go undefeated in pool play and clinch the 1 seed in their pool after a win over FREEZE. They will face Gulf Coast Waves. Mason Howell and Brock O'Iome combined for the 1-hit shutout on the mound. Cole Young had a pair of hits for the Outlaws while L. Johnson had a pair of RBI's.

USA Stars start off where they finished yesterday with another win, this time against Jokers Baseball. They improved to 3-0 in pool play and clinched the 1 seed in their pool where they will face Sarasota Sting. Ryan Spitzer threw great on the mound only letting up 1 run and striking out 8 in 5 innings of work. Nicolas Randall led the charge for them offensively with 2 hits, 3 RBI's, and 2 runs scored.

In a game that had major playoff implications, the Gulf Coast Waves were able to close it out against Florida Force to advance to the playoffs. They clinched the 2 seed in their pool and will face the PBA Outlaws in the semifinals. Jackson Geiger had a great game at the plate for the Waves producing 3 hits, 3 RBI's, and 3 runs scored. The Force were led by Raymond Gonzalez who had a pair of hits, RBI's, and runs scored.

Consolation- Jokers Baseball come back to defeated FREEZE 4-3 in the consolation game to finish the tournament 2-2. Madrid Tucker had 2 hits, an RBI, and run scored for the Jokers. Matthew Moreno had a pair of RBI's for FREEZE.

Semifinals- USA Stars defeated Sarasota Sting to advance to the championship! Matthew Pitro threw a perfect game for the Stars and struck out 3. Ryan Spitzer and Arjun Nimmala both had a pair of hits and RBI's for the Stars. Spitzer's 2 hits were both doubles while Nimmala tallied 2 triples. They've been lights out the entire tournament and will look to continue their streak into the championship game. Matt Pitre was the MVP Pitcher of the tournament throwing a perfect game in the semifinals with 5 K's. The MVP of the tournament was Arjun Nimmala as he finished the tournament hitting .500 with 2 triples, 4 HR's, and 13 RBI's.

Gulf Coast Waves came back against PBA Outlaws in the semifinals to advance to the championship where they will face off against undefeated USA Stars. Jackson Geiger had another great game at the plate going 2 for 4 with an RBI and 2 runs scored. Aaron Zhang also hit well putting up a hit, 2 RBI's, and 2 runs scored. J. Cazanas and Carson Walsh both had a pair of hits for PBA and Cazanas also had an RBI.

Championship- The championship game between USA Stars and Gulf Coast Waves may have been the best game of the tournament. They were tied at 1 through 3 innings as both starters were battling but the Stars were able to put up 5 runs in the 4th and 5th innings to close out the game and defeat the Waves 6-1. Nicolas Randall threw a complete game for the Waves striking out 6 and only letting up 1 run on 4 hits. Evan Dempsey and Arjun Nimmala both hit HR's to help the Stars win the championship.
