JUCO Top 25 Teams: May 9

May 2 Top 25 | Top 150 Junior College Prospects

It's officially playoff time across Junior College baseball, with the vast majority of teams across the country playing in their state tournaments either as you read this, or starting this coming weekend. 

At the time of this writing, Chipola (Fla.) has made their way to the semifinals of the Region 8 Tournament, also known as the Florida State tourney. As such, they remain No. 1 in the rankings this week, a spot they've retained all season. Jones County (Miss.) and LSU-Eunice (Lous.) remain at No.'s 2 and 3, respectively, but that will change as soon as next week, given both will be playing in the Region 23 tournament starting next week. Chattahoochee Valley (Ala.) bumps up one spot to No. 4 this week, and they'll begin their playoff journey this weekend in the Region 22 tourney. Santa Rosa (Calif.) is back into the top 5 this week, they won their playoff-opening series and now move onto the NorCal Super Regional beginning this weekend. 

Connors State (Okla.) bumped up three spots this week to No. 6; they, like many others on this list, begin their playoff push this weekend. Santa Fe (Fla.) will face off against No. 1 Chipola (Fla.) on Tuesday afternoon. Iowa Western makes their Top 10 debut this week at No. 8; they've been riding quite the hot streak and will look to carry that momentum into the Region 11 tournament. San Joaquin Delta (Calif.) joins Santa Rosa as NorCal schools to make their way into the Super Regionals out on the West Coast; while McLennan (Texas) fell a few spots, but remains in the Top 10. 

NOTE: There will not be a PG JuCo Top 25 next week; we'll resume the rankings in two weeks on May 23rd...and the rankings could look quite a bit different at that point.
