Sinha Joins PG Staff

Anup Sinha, who most recently worked as a full-time scout for the St. Louis Cardinals, has resigned from that position to join Perfect Game. He spent four years with the Cardinals, and a year as a scouting supervisor in Southern California with the San Diego Padres prior to that.

Sinha was previously the national scouting director for Team One Baseball and spent five years in that role, before Baseball Factory purchased Team One from previous owner Jeff Spelman, who hired Sinha.

“We always had a lot of respect for one another, back to the days Anup worked for Team One”, said Jerry Ford, president of Perfect Game. “Anup impressed us with his work ethic, integrity and knowledge of scouting. We once tried to hire him while he worked for Team One, but he refused to leave Jeff even though Team One was going through some difficulties at the time. I have always respected Anup’s loyalty because of that.

“We are extremely happy to have him working with us. He’s one of the best in the business and he will be a big asset to us as we continue to scout and promote talented young baseball players.”

Sinha will write a periodic column and provide other content that will appear regularly on
www.perfectgameusa.com and www.pgcrosschecker.com. He will also scout many PG events throughout the year and be involved with new projects that will enhance Perfect Game’s coverage of the game from a scouting standpoint.

Allan Simpson, national director for PG Crosschecker, was enthused about the hiring of Sinha.

“Like Jerry, I’ve had a long association with Anup, and always respected his work with Team One,” Simpson said. “His work with the Cardinals and Padres has only enhanced his overall scouting background, and I think he will be a solid addition to the PG staff as we broaden our current PG Crosschecker coverage and expand into new areas.”
