Looking At The Rest Of The Field In Jupiter

The other 50 teams

Looking at the rosters there are a few other teams that have the ability to finish high in this years WWBA Championship.

Of course, the final rosters are not official until the teams play their first game. Some teams will be adding several key players, while others could lose a player or two.

Anyway, Here is a short report on those teams not listed as one of the top 30 in the Handicapping article on the home page..

Baseball Northwest ?€? The roster includes many from the state of Washington and shows top national level prospects like 3B Travis Mattair, and pitchers Julian Sampson and Keaton Hayenga. Several other top 07 grads along with a couple talented 08s make this a team to watch. Probably should have been in the top 30 easily.

Cangelosi Orioles ?€? The ex Big Leaguer John Cangelosi has some of the top prospects from Illinois. LHP Casey Crosby, OF Mike Kaczmarek, RHP Kyle Kaminski and C Ian Tomkins are 4 to watch closely and there are more! This team has a chance to go a long ways into the tournament.

Tri State Arsenal ?€? This probably should have been a team listed in the top 30 in the WWBA Handicap article. Chris Berroa is an 07 to watch and Quinton Miller is an 08 pitcher everyone needs to see! The rest of the roster is well stocked with DI and/or pro prospects.

Dallas Tigers ?€? One year they finished 2nd in this tournament. One player we are interested in seeing again is RHP Brian Shore, but there are several other talented 07s and 08s on this roster.

Hammertime ?€? This team always competes in WWBA events. A big roster full of good prospects including lefty Craig Gullickson (son of Bill) who was the most valuable pitcher at the WWBA Summer Championship.

Atlanta Blue Jays ?€? A mixture of top 07s and top 08s make this team very competitive at any level. Rico Reid is a hard throwing 07 RHP to watch. MIF Tim Beckham is ranked among the top 08s in the country. There are many other high level prospects on this tea.

Team British Columbia ?€? For the first time we get to see a team with some of the top talent from Western Canada at the WWBA Championship.

East Cobb Cardinals ?€? Highly ranked players like MIF Brian Fletcher, C Chris Kay, 3B Clay Remole and some top ranked 08s make this a team to watch.

Team California ?€? A lot of talent that we haven?€™t seen yet. Looking forward to watching this team.

Bill Hood ?€? The Louisiana power program always has a lot of talent. We?€™re looking forward to seeing some talented prospects for the first time.

Austin Baseball Club ?€? This group of Texas players includes the talented Ross Speed and plenty of other outstanding players.

Team Connecticut ?€? They?€™re loaded with top 07s and top underclassmen. They could make a strong run

OTC Bearcats ?€? A lot of high level talent and outstanding athletes here. Isaiah Fronberger is a player to watch. And he?€™s not the only one!

Central Florida Renegades ?€? Lots of talent and always a threat to get deep into the tournament.

Puerto Rico Raiders ?€? A perennial outstanding program from PR, there will be some big surprises here.

McHenry County ?€? This Illinois based team features top prospect Jake Smolinski among a talented line up.

On Deck O?€™s ?€? This North Carolina team always compete well against the very best. A team that?€™s always full of DI prospects.

Mid Atlantic All Stars ?€? Always a few big surprises every year out of this team.

Florida Magic ?€? They finished runnerup in the WWBA 17&u National. A very strong team with good pitching and 17&U MVP Gary Gustavson.

Bellaire Cards ?€? Relly Mercurio and Matt West are just two very talented players on this Texas team.

Boomtown Prospects ?€? This Oklahoma based team can really compete. They put on quite a run in last years championship. Look for some big surprises.

Colorado Slammers ?€? There?€™s a few prospects we can?€™t wait to see on this roster.

Champions Baseball ?€? This will be the hometown favorite. They are young but very talented and coached by ex Big Leaguer Robby Thompson.

College Select ?€? This team from the Northeast always competes. They have a lot of good pitching.

West Coast MVP ?€? A lot of California talent here. Some will be very well known at the conclusion of this tournament.

Winning Inning - Don?€™t be surprised if this group of talented players makes a run at things.

DBat ?€? There bringing a young team from Texas. There should be a lot of talent, but most of it is not eligible for the draft. I guess the 300+ Major League scouts including MLB Scouting Directors will be somewhat disappointed. College coaches might be very interested though.

Team Puerto Rico ?€? Another big roster of talent from Puerto Rico

Central Florida Black Racers ?€? We don?€™t know a lot about them, but they are young and they won the Florida Regional, so there has to be some serious talent here.

Tidewater White Sox ?€? Lots of talent including a couple of 07s who have been ranked in the top 100.

Florida Pokers ?€? Another long time program with a lot of talent.

Iowa Select Team ?€? Some very good talent including a couple of the top 08s in America.

St Louis Pirates ?€? Some very good talent from the St Louis area.

The PG Teams

Black ?€? A group of talented players from mostly the Northeast. Coached by Bob Parks.

Cedar ?€? Players from all over the East, watch for talented Cooper Sniatynski. Coached by Gaby Sanchez.

Columbia Blue ?€? Players from all over. OF Chris Duncan is just one that needs to be followed. Coached by Mike Duncan.

Dark Green ?€? From the East Coast, top to bottom. They will be interesting. Coached by Rick Pavy.

Gold ?€? This group could pull off some big upsets. There is talent here!

Kelly Green - This team could surprise. Loaded with top underclassmen. Coached by Frank Montalvo.

Maroon ?€? Mostly from NY, we look forward to watching this team. Coached by Edwin Ortiz.

Navy ?€? There is some serious high level talent on this PG Team. All from New Jersey! Coached by Keith Dilgard.

Orange ?€? Mostly from the south, lots of talent. Coached by Brad Tremitiere

Purple ?€? This PG Team could surprise a lot of people. A very talented group. Coached by PG favorite Jimmy Zellman.

Red ?€? Lots of talent from Northern Florida. There are some big prospects, all classes, on this roster. Coached by Roger Maris?€™ son Kevin.

Royal ?€? South Florida and one Indiana player coached by Ralph Suarez, they should compete.

Steel ?€? Players from all over and some serious talent. Coached by Derek Barrows.

White ?€? Very talented group that will compete with most everyone in the tourney. Coached by Chris Valdez.

PG Crosschecker ?€? See Handicap article, they are one of the favorites to compete for the rings. The Dominicans are suppose to be very talented. This team has a few top prospects that not many know about yet. That?€™s about to change. Team coached by Red Sox scout Ray Fagnet.
