2023 Top Prospects

Alex Valentin  LHP - 2023 - Hollywood, FL
Miami

Valentin has huge stuff, as he showed throughout the 2022 calendar year, and he looked sharp in his outing. The southpaw worked up to 92 mph, adding and subtracting between 86-90 with different looks and life. The slider was wipeout quality against lefties and he's a very tough at-bat for hitters of either handedness.

Peyton Watts  SS - 2023 - Oxford, AL
Troy

Watts was sensational during the event, notching a hit in every plate appearance, a perfect 5-for-5 in game action. He's a high-waisted shortstop with an arm up to 88 mph and a pretty left-handed swing showing good leverage and power upside as he matures physically.

Danny Witters  C - 2023 - Cortlandt Manor, NY
Stetson

Witters showed some of the bigger defensive skills of the event, throwing up to 80 mph behind the dish with a 1.86 best pop time. He's got big bat speed and can impact the ball with frequency to all fields.

Sam Robertson  SS - 2023 - Anniston, AL
Auburn

Robertson has exciting tools as he registered the top 60 time of the event with a 6.6 second time. He's a great athlete with plenty of bat speed and big offensive potential.

Logan Hughes  1B - 2023 - Deland, FL
Stetson

Hughes rakes and has a sweet left-handed swing with a very good combination of hit tool and impact. It's very good bat speed, consistently on time, and Hughes had the highest exit velocity of the event at 93 mph with multiple barrels in game.

Robert Nedry  SS - 2023 - Lighthouse Point, FL
North Carolina State

Nedry is a long, physical shortstop with solid traits that project out on the left side long term. He threw 86 mph across with a couple of standout defensive plays while the swing is powerful from the left side.

Cristopher Morales  RHP - 2023 - Guayanilla, PR
Bethune-Cookman

Morales showed a full four-pitch mix, plenty of arm speed, and an innate feel to spin. He's a good athlete that will continue to uptick in velocity and both his curveball and slider are very good pitches that can buckle hitters.

Hayes Harrison  LHP - 2023 - Oxford, AL
Northwest-Shoals CC

Harrison is a throwback player who does everything well on the baseball field. He collected two hits in the first game before hopping on the mound in the second. Pitching wise, he worked up to 82 mph, maintained velocity, and showed a dastardly changeup.

Oneill Feliz  C - 2023 - Fort Myers, FL
Florida Southwestern State College

Feliz is a very strong hitter with very good strength and carry off the barrel. He can throw well too with throws up to 77 mph from behind the plate. He performed in game too with numerous barrels to all parts of the field.

Austin Fisher  RHP - 2023 - Rochester Hills, MI
Oakland

Fisher is a broad-shouldered and super projectable right-hander with a 6-foot-4, 200-pound frame. The arm is whippy and fast as he lived in the mid-80s peaking at 88 mph with hard life. The slider changes direction late and he should grow into some significant velocity.

Tony Konopiots  3B - 2023 - Downers Grove, IL
West Virginia

Konopiots has excellent size and physicality while there's plenty of present strength and room for big power projection. He flashed that power in BP and also hit a long double in game.

James Fordham  RHP - 2023 - Chester, GA
Georgia Southwestern State

Fordham flashed some big stuff, working up to 88 mph in the first inning and settling into the mid-80s. It's a power fastball-breaking ball combination presently though he also flashed a changeup.

Michael Geissler  RHP - 2023 - Peabody, MA
Uncommitted

Geissler was super efficient during his time on the mound, showing the ability to change looks, speeds, and mix up his repertoire. He worked up to 86 mph and showed good feel for a breaker and firm changeup that he went to more often as the outing progressed.

Zachary Lyles  OF - 2023 - Fairmount, GA
Western Kentucky

Lyles is an impressive hitter with a great approach in the box. He has some explosive turns with great bat speed and strength in the hands. Worked pull-side and the pull-side gap with solid contact. Produced 89 mph exit velocity. Impressive performance overall.

Emmanuel Perez  SS - 2023 - Miami, FL
Calhoun CC

Perez ran a 6.98 60-yard dash and had a solid performance throughout the showcase. He threw 80 mph across the infield with the ability to adjust slots as needed. He had some solid contact to the pull-side during BP and swung it well with some strength at impact as he worked direct to it. Nice performance in-game as well, barreling up an 88 mph fastball for a base hit.

Jase Phillips  RHP - 2023 - Ooltewah, TN
Pensacola State

Phillips is a big, projectable right-hander with plenty of room to fill out. He's still uncommitted and has a full pitch mix with the heater up to 87 mph during this look. The ball comes out clean with feel for spin and he's going to continue to throw harder.

Justin Pierre  OF - 2023 - Valley Cottage, NY
American International

Pierre is a big, physical right-handed hitter who generates significant carry off the bat. He notched three barrels in the first game including a rocket of an opposite field triple. It's legit power with a simple plan and execution to tap into it.
