Axel Hernandez is a 2022 2B/SS with a 6-2 155 lb. frame from Quija Quieta, Bani, PV who attends Santa Ana Escuela. Large, athletic frame with square shoulders and long limbs, lean build with room to fill throughout. Ran a 7.50 60-yard dash. Listed as a primary second baseman but has the arm strength for the left side, hands play well at the ball with snatchy actions,, short and quick arm action through the back, projects very well and tools are advanced in the dirt. Right-handed hitter, begins with a wide base and a high hand set and back elbow setup in the box; hands work well in the swing and stays loose throughout. Easy swing path and showed a consistent feel for the barrel, nice present carry off of the barrel when squared out to pull side with steady line drive contact. Good student. Named to South Dominican Republic Top Prospect List.
