2021 Mid-Atlantic Prospect Showcase
Jordan Oliver is a 2022 RHP/1B/3B with a 6-3 210 lb. frame from Lancaster, PA who attends Lancaster Catholic. Large, athletic frame with broad shoulders and present physical strength proportioned throughout. Ran a 7.23 60-yard dash. Primary right-handed pitcher, full windup on the mound, utilizes strong body and length well to generate downhill plane, sound mechanics which he repeats and works to a high three-quarters release point. Fastball topped out at 90 mph, mostly true in life but worked around the zone, pitched to contact. Mixed both a slider and changeup for strikes; slider shows late break to it up to 76 mph while changeup flashed fading action at 81 mph. Moves well in the infield as well, sound mechanics with athleticism, soft hands and quick transfer out of glove, strong arm with carry across the diamond. Right-handed higher, begins with a slightly open stance with a high hand set and back elbow at the plate, barrel wrap at start of swing. Longer swing path through the zone and gets around the ball some at point of contact, has the ability to generate backspin to pull side when on time, incorporates strength well.
