Eric Cervantes is a 2017 C/RHP/1B with a 5-11 160 lb. frame from San Antonio, TX who attends Marshall HS. Medium, athletic frame with long limbs and a lean, projectable build with room to fill throughout moving forward. Ran a 7.56 60-yard dash. Primary catcher, shows a quick transfer and release out of the glove, clean exchange, gets tall at release, mostly upper body at release, full arm action through the back, gets on top of throws and shows accuracy down to second base, receives out front and gains short ground with lower half. Righthanded hitter, begins with a spread stance in the box and a medium hand set, leg lift trigger with a long stride moving into contact. Busy load and occasionally gets to front side early, full swing coming through the zone, linear path and shows ability to turn the barrel well. Getting taller through swing will help stay on plane, employs a middle of the field approach at the plate. Very good student.
