Christopher Cruz is a 2022 RHP with a 6-3 170 lb. frame from Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic who attends Otilio Virgil Diaz. Large, athletic frame with ideal pitcher's build; high waist and long limbs, ultra-projectable with room to fill throughout moving forward. Primary righthanded pitcher, nice tempo and balance throughout build; gets tall on backside with leg lift up past belt, full and whip-like arm action through the back working to a three-quarters release point. Strides on line with lower half, incorporates lower half into drive and clears front side at release. Worked comfortably in the upper-80s and topped out at 90 mph with plane to the lower part of the zone and subtle running life to his arm side,
pounded the strike zone. Advanced feel for secondaries at this age; firm changeup in the mid-80s with replicated slot, shows late diving life down in the zone. Tight rotation to curveball up to 75 mph, best depth when on top of the ball, tunnels well at release. Named to 14U Florida Top Prospect List. Eligible to sign July 2nd of 2019.
