Caleb Ricca is a 2016 SS with a 5-8 150 lb. frame from Prairieville, LA who attends Dutchtown HS. Medium, athletic frame with good quick-twitch strength throughout body and solid room to continue filling out. Ran 60 yard dash in 6.81 seconds. Switch-hitter, showed good hitting ability from both sides of the plate. Keeps hands inside well from the right side, shows hand speed with feel for the barrel, did a very good job barreling the ball wherever it was pitched and willingness to use the entire field. Sets up a bit wider spread from the left side with a bit more pop in his swing, clean stroke and overall hand path, can drive it some into both gaps. Impressive defender who profiles well up the middle, bends well at waist and shows soft hands. Surrounds ball well with quick, efficient footwork and overall fluidity. Quick transfer and release, consistently accurate across with throws clocked up to 81 MPH. Named to 2016 World Uncommitted Showcase Top Prospect List. Good student.
