Jack Carey is a 2018 RHP with a 6-0 190 lb. frame from Summit, NJ who attends St. Peter's Prep. Medium athletic build with good present strength. High 3/4's to over the top delivery with a short stride out front, gets over his front side well for his mechanics and can get the ball to the bottom of the zone. Velocity comes pretty easily, fastball up to 94 mph, mostly straight, blew his fastball past a number of hitters. Gets on top of his curveball well with a short and sharp 11/5 break, seemed hesitant to throw his curveball to left handed hitters and will need to in the future. Rare change up with a slower arm still developing. Good student, verbal commitment to Duke.
