Carson Applegate is a 2022 SS/RHP with a 5-11 192 lb. frame from Columbus, NJ who attends The Hun. Solid athletic build with strength in his hips and lower half. 6.46 runner in the sixty. Has athletic actions in the middle infield on defense, good sound footwork through the ball with quick and clean glove to hand transfers, throws accurately from multiple arm slots and gets big carry from the hole when on top of the ball. Right handed hitter, starts from a balanced base and a wrapped barrel load, weight tends to stay on his backside, line drive swing approach, can use his strong lower half more to help generate bat speed. Also pitched, drop and drive mechanics with a cross body landing and release out front, works exclusively from the stretch. Fastball topped out at 91 mph, mostly straight. Sweeping slurve type breaking ball is throw for strikes, developing change up. Good student, verbal commitment to Kentucky.
