David Peterson is a 2014 LHP with a 6-6 220 lb. frame from Denver, CO who attends Regis Jesuit HS. Extra tall and strong frame, powerful hips, very loose upper half. Tall delivery, compact arm action that hides the ball well, mid 3/4's arm slot, very loose and tension free arm stroke. Fastball to 90 mph, have seen 92 mph frequently since, outstanding running life at times, probably cannot throw a baseball straight, very projectable velocity. Gets hard spin on curveball with big sweeping action at times, have seen quality change up in the past but didn't throw this outing. Very good athlete with two-way potential, plus defender at first base with smooth actions and balance. Left handed hitter with strength in his swing and present bat speed. Has firmed up his body and is growing into his coordination, high ceiling talent if everything comes together for him. Verbal commitment to Oregon. Selected to the Perfect Game All-American Classic.
