WP - Peter Ruiz is a 2005 RHP/1B from Nevada Union HS in CA. Peter has a large frame with wide shoulders and lots of present strength. Peter has short arm action in the back with a downward movement then up, with arm speed out front. He shows good balance and finish to his delivery. Peter has a good idea on the mound and will flash a plus quality curveball that has late break with depth. His curveball is an out pitch now, and in the future. There's no doubt that he'll be a successful college pitcher. At the plate, he is a good gap hitter with raw power to both alleys. He uses his hands well and shows bat speed through the strike zone. His bat will also play at the college level. We grade him higher because of that outstanding breaking ball.
