LATEST PG SHOWCASE REPORT
2005 Unsigned Seniors Showcase
Brown is a strong and athletic 6-2, 190 lb left handed pitcher from Maryland. He pitched very effectively for 4 innings, retiring the first 9 hitters, 5 on strikeouts. Brown was consistently 83-85 mph on his fastball, very good for a left hander. He has solid pitching mechanics and gets good drive out of his lower half and good extension out front. Brown will get some sinking action on his fastball but is still a bit raw in commanding this pitch. Brown also threw a 63-66 mph curveball that has decent spin and break to it and a 72 mph change up. He’s a good athlete who ran well and swung a good bat in the games. With his arm strength, frame and overall athletic ability, it’s easy to see him pitching at the upper college level. The Junior College route would probably be the ideal level for him to start at. Needs to be followed.
