Heath Derusso (2026, Brentwood, Calif.) was solid at the plate this weekend. Derusso was 1-for-3 with a two-RBI single for Florida Burns National 2026. He has a decent leg kick and drifts forward to start his swing, does a good job keeping the hands back as he gains this moment towards the ball. At heel strike, Derusso is in a very powerful position to hit and lets his hands do most of the work, once his lower half has cleared. His aggressive approach in the box, looking to do damage on the first good pitch he sees, also showed the ability to be a tough out. Big physical lefty with good power in his bat.
