Brayden Powell
Adan Rojas (2027, Streamwood, Ill.) turned in one of the more dominant pitching performances of the weekend, striking out 10 over 5 innings while consistently dictating at-bats. The fastball worked 77–80 mph, topping at 82, and he showed the ability to elevate and miss bats when needed. His slider at 67–70 mph played as a real separator pitch, generating uncomfortable swings and late decisions. Showed strong tempo on the mound and never allowed hitters to settle in rhythm. What stood out most was his ability to maintain attack mode while still showing feel for sequencing.  

Cruz Jaramillo (2030, Mount Pleasant, Wisc.) brought consistent energy to the lineup all weekend and was a tough out from start to finish. Finished with 8 hits over the tournament. The swing is compact with a strong intent to impact, and he does a nice job staying on time with his stride. When he gets extended, the ball comes off the barrel with surprising carry for his frame. Showed a good mix of contact ability and athleticism that plays in multiple ways.  



Alex Silva (2029, Milwaukee, Wisc.) showed one of the more polished offensive looks in the group, finishing with 6 hits including multiple extra-base knocks. The lower-half engagement stands out, allowing him to create consistent force through contact. He stays connected through the zone and does a great job controlling the barrel through impact. The swing has a natural flow that allows him to drive pitches to the gaps without overexerting. Produced loud contact when he got pitches he could extend on. 

Ryder Goggin (2029, Lake Geneva, Wisc.) put together one of the most complete two-way weekends of the group and made an impact in every phase. Offensively, he finished with 7 hits, 3 doubles, a home run, and 9 RBI while consistently punishing mistakes. The right-handed swing shows clear leverage and real ability to elevate the baseball. On the mound worked 5 innings allowing just 1 hit while showing command and tempo throughout. The fastball played well in the zone and he filled it up early in counts.  

Anthony Ramirez (2030, Greendale, Wisc.) continued to swing a hot bat all weekend, finishing with 10 hits and 10 RBI while showing a calm presence in the box. The left-handed hitter operates with natural rhythm and rarely looks rushed, even in high-leverage at-bats. Barrel control stands out, as he consistently squares balls up to all fields. The swing path stays efficient and allows him to adjust to pitch location well. When he gets his pitch, he doesn’t miss it and consistently produces quality contact.  

Mason Krofta (2029, Franklin, Wisc.) was a constant spark at the top of the order finishing with 9 hits, 11 runs, and 4 stolen bases. The hands work quickly through the zone and he does a nice job creating contact early in the swing. Shows the middle of the field approach with the ability to use the whole field. Once on base, his speed immediately changes the dynamic of the inning. Plays with confidence and keeps pressure on defenses. 

Damien Kropidlowski (2029, Franksville, Wisc.) one of the more disciplined hitters on the weekend, finishing with 7 hits and 5 walks without striking out. The left-handed swing is compact and efficient, allowing him to consistently control the barrel. Shows advanced strike-zone awareness and rarely expands outside of his approach. When he does swing, it’s with intent and a clear plan to drive the baseball. The consistency of quality contact stood out across multiple games.  

Hayden Jones (2030, Windsor, Wisc.) impressed both behind the plate and at it, showing maturity well beyond his age. Defensively, handled the catching position with confidence and strong game awareness throughout. Offensively, finished with 4 hits including 3 doubles and a triple while driving in 6 runs. The swing has natural looseness and allows him to impact the baseball when he gets extended. Showed the ability to deliver in run-producing situations consistently. 

Eli Eads (2029, Franklin, Wisc.) finished with 6 hits and 7 stolen bases on the weekend. Keeps the swing simple and repeatable, allowing him to consistently put the ball in play. Shows good bat-to-ball skills and an understanding of his role offensively. Once he reaches base, he becomes an immediate threat with plus run tool impact in game action. Plays with pace and creates constant pressure on defenses. A disruptive offensive weekend driven by athleticism and energy. 

Donald Krause III (2029, Milwaukee, Wisc.) delivered a strong two-way performance, impacting the game both offensively and on the mound. At the plate, finished with 7 hits and 7 RBI while showing quick hands and a compact swing that consistently found barrels. Shows a controlled approach with the ability to handle different pitch types and locations. On the mound, threw 6 scoreless innings while striking out 6 and limiting damage. Fastball played with control in the zone and he mixed pitches well to navigate lineups. A complete performance that showed versatility and competitiveness. 

Ethan Ferguson (2029, Burlington, Wisc.) provided some of the most athletic flashes of the weekend, finishing with 6 hits including a home run. The hand speed stands out immediately and allows the barrel to get through the zone with intent. Showed strength through contact and the ability to impact pitches out front. One of the highlights included an inside-the-park home run that showcased his speed and aggressiveness. Plays with energy and doesn’t slow down on contact, always looking to create extra bases. Dynamic offensive showing with real athletic upside. 

Dominick Pina (2029, Racine, Wisc.) was one of the more consistent contact hitters in the event, finishing with 9 hits and steady run production. The swing is short and repeatable allowing him to stay on time throughout the weekend. Shows advanced feel for the barrel and rarely misses hittable pitches. Produces line-drive contact and keeps pressure on defenses with consistent contact quality. Does an impressive job staying within himself and letting the game come to him.  

Connor Worth (2029, West Bend, Wisc.) produced in key moments all weekend, finishing with 5 hits and 8 RBI while showing an ability to come through in traffic. Starts from a wide base and works into a compact move that keeps him balanced through contact. The swing path stays efficient and allows him to consistently square balls up to the gaps. Showed extra-base impact with a triple and double during the weekend. Handles run-producing situations well and doesn’t expand outside of his approach.

Brooks Little (2030, Cambridge, Ill.) strong overall showing from this right-handed hitter over the course of the weekend. Collected five hits including a pair of doubles while consistently putting together quality at-bats. Showed a mature offensive approach with multiple walks and no strikeouts across the event. Impacted the game in multiple ways offensively, scoring 6 runs while also swiping three bags on the bases. Athletic mover with developing offensive upside and a competitive presence throughout tournament play. 

Jack Sharp (2030, Taylor Ridge, Ill.) physical left-handed hitter and two-way prospect put together an impressive all-around weekend. Collected four hits including a pair of doubles while showing present strength and the ability to drive the baseball with authority. Threw 4.0 scoreless innings with seven strikeouts while allowing just one hit. Fastball worked up to 76 mph with clean arm action and the ability to miss bats consistently throughout the outing. Competitive player with noticeable upside on both sides of the ball moving forward. 

Mason Mital (2030, Rock Island, Ill.) two-way prospect showed well throughout the weekend with strength standing out on both sides of the ball. Collected four hits and drove in five runs while consistently producing hard contact through the middle of the field. Present physicality projects well offensively with developing power potential moving forward. Also contributed on the mound, working 4 innings with four strikeouts while filling up the zone at 74 mph. Strong-bodied athlete with intriguing upside as he continues to develop. 

Chase Mital (2030, Rock Island, Ill.) really strong offensive weekend from this hitter, collecting 6 hits while consistently finding the barrel throughout the event. Showed a confident approach in the box with the ability to spray line drives to all fields. Crossed the plate seven times and continuously put pressure on opposing defenses with quality at-bats. Swing works with good rhythm and developing bat speed through contact. Offensive upside stood out all weekend with the ability to impact games consistently at the plate. 

Theo Meister (2028, Worthing, S.D.) put together one of the stronger pitching performances of the weekend, working 5.0 innings with eight strikeouts while allowing just two hits. Fastball worked up to 81 mph with life through the zone and the ability to consistently get ahead of hitters. Slider at 72 mph proved to be an effective secondary offering, generating swings and misses while showing tight spin and late action. Competed with confidence throughout the outing and showed the ability to command multiple pitches. Contributed offensively over the weekend as well, collecting three hits and continuing to show value as a two-way prospect. 

Bailor Kristensen (2028, Mitchell, S.D.) a big-time right-handed two-way prospect dominated on both sides of the ball throughout the weekend. On the mound, worked six scoreless innings with nine strikeouts while allowing just one hit, showing the ability to control the game from start to finish. Fastball worked up to 76 mph with consistent strikes and competitive intent throughout the outing. Offensively he was even more impressive, collecting six hits including three doubles and a home run while driving in six. Physical presence and offensive impact stood out all weekend with intriguing upside as a power producing two-way player. 

Noah Stecko (2028, Darnenne Prairie, Mo.) this hitter put together a strong offensive weekend, consistently finding ways to get on base and produce quality at-bats. Collected five hits while showing advanced bat-to-ball skills and the ability to spray contact to all fields. Stayed under control throughout the event with a mature approach and minimal swing-and-miss. Drove in six runs and continued to come through in key offensive situations for his lineup. High-contact offensive profile with feel for the barrel and competitive presence at the plate. 

Blake Sieve (2028, O’Fallon, Mo.) with present strength and developing power potential put together an impressive offensive weekend. Collected four hits including a pair of doubles while consistently driving the baseball with authority. What stood out most was the advanced plate discipline working five walks and showing a mature understanding of the strike zone throughout the event. Stayed under control in every at-bat and consistently forced pitchers to work deep counts. His approach and overall feel to hit points towards upside moving forward. 

Theodore Toulouse (2028, Minneapolis, Minn.) Left-handed hitter showed some of the better barrel speed and hand quickness seen throughout the weekend. Collected six hits while consistently getting the barrel out and producing hard contact to multiple parts of the field. Swing works with looseness and rhythm, allowing him to stay on pitches and create quality contact consistently. Added a double and drove in two runs while continuing to pressure pitchers with competitive at-bats throughout the event. Offensive upside stands out with the combination of bat speed and feel to find the barrel. 

Harrison Randolph (2028, MPLS, Minn.) turned in a dominant outing built around elite command and the ability to consistently locate throughout the zone. Worked a 6-inning complete game no hitter. Keeping hitters off balance from start to finish. Fastball worked up to 75 mph and played up due to precise location and the ability to attack both sides of the plate. Showed confidence pitching ahead in counts and rarely gave hitters anything to handle comfortably. Advanced feel for pitching and overall strike throwing ability stood out all outing long.

East Cobb Goes Undefeated, Takes 14U BCS Twenty years after winning the inaugural 14U BCS National Championship in 2006, the East Cobb Astros once again stood atop the tournament, defeating the Original Florida Pokers 7-4 at JetBlue Park. A hot, sunny afternoon set the stage for a tightly contested match between the Original Florida Pokers 2030 and East Cobb Astros 14U Orange. Although the Pokers had a two-run lead with just three innings to go, East Cobb showed their team had no quit as they pulled away with a 7-4 victory. The teams battled through a highly contested tournament field of over sixty teams from across the country, with the Pokers coming in 8-1 and East Cobb entering 8-0 in tournament play. After an action-packed week at the 16u WWBA Championships, the tournament came down to two of the nation’s top teams battling for one of travel baseball’s most prestigious titles. No. 5 ranked SBA Bolts National faced No. 60 Alpha Prime 2028 after both teams reached the championship undefeated, but the SBA Bolts were the sole team to exit without a loss, defeating Alpha Prime 10-2 in mercy rule fashion and capture the national title behind dominant pitching and explosive offensive performances. Ridge Whitfield (2029, Charlotte, NC) stands at 6-foot, 158 pounds with an athletic build that should allow him to maintain his mobility and quick-twitch actions as he continues to develop. He bats and throws left-handed. Whitfield locates his fastball to both sides of the plate, mixes his pitches effectively, and keeps hitters off balance. He competes on every pitch and doesn’t back down in big situations. Whitfield threw 5.1 innings, allowing three hits, one earned run, and no walks while striking out three on 75 pitches (58% strikes). Jake Karpell (2030, Holmdel, NJ) got on the barrel a couple times in game five and totaled three rbis. Started his production with a single then later on hammered a heater down the right field and flew around the bases for a three run inside the park home run. Keeps the hands inside at contact really well and got the head around on the homer. Runs well and can hit it around the yard in the approach.  Luke Sauer (2030 C, FL)  put his hit tool on display with a well-struck double, continuing to show why he is regarded as one of the top catchers in the class. Owns a big frame with present physicality and does a good job keeping the hands connected throughout the swing. The barrel works efficiently through the zone and there is a solid offensive foundation present. The amateur players in the Cape Cod Baseball League are the future stars of the 2027 MLB Draft. The league runs from June 13th through August 2nd. Games are played at historic stadiums in Old New England towns. It’s beautiful and charming. Hollywood even made a movie about the Cape Cod League ~25 years ago called Summer Catch. It scored an 8% (!) on Rotten Tomatoes, but, on the plus side, it featured 2001 Jessica Biel in a starring role.  It was so much fun writing Coppy’s Column this spring. My hope is to highlight a pitcher and position player each week from the Cape. And, who knows, maybe somewhere out there Jessica Biel is reading it.    Player of the Week: Carter White – Falmouth Commodores  Talk about making a great first impression!
