Complete offensive profile when you combine his barrel control, strength projection, and athleticism.

Ben Klitgaard (2026, Iowa City, IA) one of the most dominant hitters we saw this Friday. Driving the ball was not a problem for this young athlete. He had a XBH hit in both games he played and a huge HR coming from game 1. He shows a bigger leg kick that generates power throughout the swing with still hands that fire through the zone as he swings. These two qualities made him a + bat this weekend. Starting from a crouched position he fires his hands through the zone.He shows a low and controlled swing that can drive the ball across the entire diamond. He also has the ability to control his barrel exceptionally well to get himself on base. His lower half rotation is impressive as well as how calmly he keeps his hands throughout his swing. His confidence grew throughout the day and it translated to the field.

Hudson Davies (2029, North Liberty, IA) was one of the hottest bats I saw all weekend. He had 3 multi-hit games tallying 9 hits and 7 RBI over the two days. XBH machine with 3 triples and 4 doubles. I can’t say I am surprised, with his smooth athletic LH swing. He generates effortless pop using his lower half. Toe tapping into his swing keeps him level and in a great position to damage pitches within the zone. Does damage to all fields, and shows the ability to let the ball travel and take it to the opposite field.

Jett Kamberling (2026, Tipton, IA) this RHP was all over the zone keeping hitters off balance. He controlled the tempo throughout the entire outing. 4 Innings pitched paired with 10 strikeouts. His FB topped 87 and sat between 82-85, and paired it with a slider sitting around 73-75. Shows flashes of a change up as well. Has ability to throw all three pitches competitively in the zone. He is a simple, repeatable, and athletic mover working down the mound. Gets into his legs very well generating power from the ground up. Add that to his whippy arm action, he is set up for success. Southeastern CC commit.

Nolan Dittmer (2026, Walcott, IA) stands at 6’8 225 with huge power at the plate. His stature coming from the left side strikes fear into opposing pitchers. Today went 4-6 with two doubles, and a HR as well as 4 RBIs. Controlled aggression coming out of his swing as he just punishes baseballs over the plate. At this frame he has the impressive ability to get low and attack any pitch that comes his way. His whippy bat path and long levers gives him a unique ability to crush baseballs all over the diamond. Power generates from the ground up and effortlessly works through baseballs. Southeastern CC commit.

Easton Jansen (2027, Long Grove, IA) hit the ball hard all day today collecting 3 extra-base hits out of his 4 knocks. This comes in the form of two doubles, and a HR. Yet, his biggest impact was his timely hits that gave him 6 RBIs. Whippy hands through the zone create effortless pop working from the lower half. Keeping his posture through baseballs makes it easy for him to stay on a level plain. Giving him the edge over opposing pitchers he faces. Approach in the box also goes a long way within his swing. This being an all fields approach that was shown today.

Lincoln Berding (2026, Mason City, IA) easily was one of the best arms we have seen all spring, and he had his best performance of the spring. He threw 4 Innings and struck out 11, and allowed no walks or base hits. Lincoln's heater sat 85-87 mph, topping 89, and paired it well with a SL. He kept hitters out of rhythm exceptionally well. As the game continued he also showed the ability to throw first pitch breakers. He used both pitches very effectively and lived in the zone. Southeastern CC commit.

Wyatt Ebel (2027, Ely, IA) threw very well today working through 3 innings. Allowing one hit paired with 7 Ks and no walks. Easily his best outing of the spring as well. He sat 78-80, T82, on the fastball and showed a slider in the mid-60s. He has the ability to throw both pitches in the zone very competitively. He made sure to create a rhythm that gets him into a pitchers count. Once he got to a pitchers count he almost always got the out. One of the guys to keep an eye on as the spring progresses into summer high school ball is approaching.

Cal Bonifas (2026, Bellevue, IA) threw 2 innings today and collected 5 strikeouts. Impressive stuff coming from this RHP he paired a FB, SL, CH very well throughout this outing. He shows the ability to throw all four pitches for strikes as well. FB 80-82, SL 73-75, and CH - 77. Some of his best stuff came to play this weekend as he kept batters out of sync. Throws from a really athletic standpoint that works well on the mound. As he goes through this spring I expect him to keep popping up on our watchlist. Wartburg Commit

13/14u PG Elite Scout Notes: Days 1-2

Perfect Game Staff
Article Image
2031 King James (Cincinnati, Ohio) got the start on the bump for Team Elite against, coincidentally enough, his hometown Cincinnati Angels and delivered a 5 inning, run rule shortened complete game effort. Not overly physical at just 5-foot-8, 140 pounds, James came out showing quickness to his arm as he opened up in the 75-77 mph while working around the zone, mixing a bigger curveball with depth to help keep hitters off balance. Ultimately he struck out 6 on the game and walked just one while scattering four hits and even helped his own cause, picking up a double on the offensive side of things.  While he went 0-1 at the dish with a pair of walks, it's still worth talking about the performance from catcher Michael Wedgeworth (Flomaton, Ala.) as his catch-and-throw skills from behind the dish were on full display throughout the game, delivering a couple of strikes down to second...

The 6-foot-2, 183-pound shortstop/outfielder has showed defensive versatility throughout the event and does so with ease. He has all the actions at shortstop but also showed good range, tracking a flyball down the left field line on Friday. In the box, he’s uber-projectable in every phase and is already doing a great job of controlling the zone. The power should continue to trend up in the coming years and...

Article Image
Some moments set the tone for an entire game. For Jackson Nave, it happened in his very first trip to the plate. The Sevierville, Tennessee native stepped into the batter’s box looking for a pitch he could drive. A few moments later, the ball was flying over the fence, giving FTB Phillies 13U an early boost and igniting what would become a dominant offensive performance. “I was feeling good,” Nave said. “I was just trying to find a pitch I could hammer. I kept my eye on it, took it down the middle and that felt good.” That swing was only the beginning. Nave finished the game with a home run, four runs scored, and four RBI as FTB Phillies 13U rolled to a 27-4 victory on the opening day of the 2026 PG 13U National Elite Championship. For Nave, getting the offense started early is an important part of helping his team succeed. “I think it is really...

‘29 SS Chase Hallett (NJ) drops the bat head on this one & lifts it out to the PS for a solo HR. It’s an intriguing profile overall with the young left-handed hitting middle infielder and the power projects in a big way. The swing is short and simple, he finds the barrel at a high clip, and is a sure handed defender up the middle. This has all the makings of a high-end prospect in a few years and is certainly a name of note in the ‘29 class. Canon Day (2028, Germantown, Tenn.) put together a great day on the offensive side of things,...
