Oliver Higgins (2028, Wadell, AZ). This is now our staff’s third standout look at Higgins to start the summer. Started with a strong Sunshine Southwest Showcase, then a solid Memorial Day Classic weekend and he followed that up with a 5-for-8 performance at the plate and five strong innings on the mound at the AZ All State Games. It’s a smaller and lean frame but he’s an athletic mover that shows in his smooth delivery down the mound and with his loose and quick left-handed stroke. There’s noticeable confidence and comfortability on the mound where he fills up the strike zone with an upper 70s fastball and shows the feel to flip in a mid 60s slurvy breaker effectively.
