South Invitational Scout Notes: Days 3-5

Tristan Bristow (2024, Helotes, Texas) was dominant on the mound for Banditos Scout. The Vanderbilt commit struck out eight over five shutout frames with a nasty three-pitch mix. Fastball lived mostly 88-90 and topped 92 mph with heavy run and plane from an ultra short arm action. His slider is plus with spin upwards of 2600 RPMs and tons of tail and bite in the 78-81 mph range. He also flashed a few mid-70s curveballs with short 11-5 shape and depth. It’s plus armspeed and real electric through the zone. He mixes tempos with ease and knows how to mix bats.

AJ Miera (2024, Roanoke, Texas) matched Bristow on the hill and followed it up with another dominant start. It’s a potent two-pitch mix and big two-way athleticism at this stage for an uncommitted name
