Things are starting to get interesting across the nation as conference play has opened and some teams that have been hiding in the shadows have stepped forward. Mid-majors, or Non-Power 5s as we like to refer to them, continue to add quality series wins to their resumes and the SEC furthers its strangled hold at the top of the poll. There was a little movement within the top-5 this week with the Florida Gators jumping to No. 2 on the strength of their overall talent and body of work thus far in 2023. Stanford has scuffled a bit and exits the top-5 and lands at No. 7 as they prepare to host Oregon State this week. The SEC parade starts with LSU continuing its reign at No. 1, with Florida, Arkansas, and Tennessee right behind. Wake Forest hangs in at No. 5 after their weekend series win at Duke.

ECU and Oklahoma State are our two biggest risers this week as they both climb eight spots. The Pirates are rolling as they went (5-0) and really flexed their muscle on the mound only allowing 8 runs the entire week. Trey Yesavage has been dominant this year and given them a clear-cut Friday night ace. The Oklahoma State offense has been surging of late with Nolan Schubart leading the way as they averaged 9 runs per game during their six wins on the week.

We have two new names in the top-25 this week in Campbell and Boston College. The Camels spent their spring break down on the bayou where they beat Louisiana two of three, swept Tulane in a double mid-week and then went to the mountains of North Carolina to take all three games from a quality Appalachian State club. Boston College is no longer hanging in the shadows as they made a huge statement this week on the road. They went to Knoxville in the midweek and took down the Vols and then proceeded to win both games of a doubleheader at Virginia Tech to open ACC play at 2-1.

The SEC opens league play this week and we jump right into it with a couple ranked matchups in LSU at Texas A&M and Ole Miss at Vanderbilt. The intriguing race for the Sun Belt title will also get started this weekend. It should be another fine week of baseball and we will bring you plenty of coverage.
