JUCO Top 25: March 7

Brian Sakowski      Blaine Peterson      Cameron McElwaney      Troy Sutherland
Another week down as we slip deeper and deeper into the JUCO season, and we've finally reached the point where we have some usable data on northern schools. There was a fair bit of movement this week but nothing overly significant, with some moving parts throughout the board as well as three newcomers.

Starting at the top, Central Florida remains our No. 1 club and continues to separate themselves from the pack as No. 1. Central Arizona remains steady at No. 2 as they continue to navigate the brutal Arizona landscape, while Iowa Western continues to climb, rising up to No. 3 this week on the strength of a still-unbeaten 12-0 mark. Walters State was another riser this week, up to No. 4 overall, while McLennan dropped a couple spots but stays in the top five.

South Mountain is staking a claim as potentially CAC's biggest threat out west, riding an 18-6 start all the way up to No. 6 overall, which is their highest ranking to date in my time doing this. Pearl River remains our top NJCAA DII school, checking in at No. 7 this week with a strong 17-3 record thus far. Florence-Darlington continues to be as steady as they come, rising a pair of spots to No. 8. LSU-Eunice burst down the door to the top 10 this week, they remain unbeaten thus far at 20-0 on what can only be described as a revenge tour following 2021. Gulf Coast State ran into a little trouble this week and fell a few spots, but remain in the top 10 at No. 10 overall.

Notable risers throughout the rest of the rankings this week include Heartland up to No. 12 following a two-game sweep of Kirkwood in what was a big time strength of schedule win. Santa Fe remains unbeaten at 24-0 and rose up three spots this week to their new season-high rank of No. 14 overall, they'll keep rising as they keep winning, of course. Pensacola State jumped 5 spots to No. 15 this week, they are 21-4 and are playing extremely well. The newcomers this week include Meridian at No. 20 and Gaston at No. 24, both making their Top 25 debuts this season after being ranked in the Top 50 preseason. Joining them as newcomers this week is Wabash Valley, who rejoins the Top 25 following a week out of it as they continue to find their footing and play better and better.
