PG Fall World Series Scout Notes: Day 1

Gabe Boyd (2025, Memphis, Tenn.), tabbed as the No. 36 player in the 2025 class, did not disappoint Friday. In his first at-bat he nearly left the yard. Regardless, the ball hopped over the wall for a 2-RBI ground-rule double. Just as impressive as his ability at the dish are his actions defensively, showing advanced lateral mobility with sound glove work to match. The swing is violent, but not at the expense of sound barrel control. The length and leanness makes the frame easy to project. Easy to think with that kind of athleticism that he remains somewhere on the left side of the infield long term.
