Roman Martin (2023, Whittier, Calif.) is tooled up on both sides and showed just that to kick things off. The UCLA commit stung two loud hits off a pair of 91 mph fastballs, one back up the middle and another shot to left field. Special hands with easy bat speed and extension at the plate. Little wasted movement in the load with a fluid barrel that stays long through the zone. Simple in all phases with an advanced approach. Martin was crisp on the dirt with easy actions and a few eye-opening plays to his left. The transfers and overall feel for the leather can really stick up the middle long term along with the projection in the body. Martin continues his loud summer and can very well be a name to keep an eye on as we shift to the 2023 draft class.
