16u WWBA Scout Notes: Day 1 | Day 2

The final stat line won’t paint the picture of Maddox Jones (2024, Ootlewah, Tenn.) as he’s got good stuff, just struggled some as a whole here. He’s an athletic and projectable right-hander with lots of arm talent and arm speed as he’ll work in the upper-80s and get downhill hard with it while he’s got plenty of feel to spin too. He creates tough plane on the fastball, even at just 6-foot, and if he can command it a bit better, he’s really effective with it. The spin is a tight lateral slider that’ll he manipulate shape a bit on but overall has really good components as a whole.
