Below are the annual Perfect Game State Players of the Year, compiled by the scouting staff from around the country, recognizing some of the most talented prospects and best overall high school seasons put together by players from almost all 50 states in the year of 2022.
 
 Alabama | Riley Quick, Hewitt-Trussville
Pitched to the tune of a 13-1 record and racked up 130 Ks in 83 innings with a 0.42 ERA; led Hewitt-Trussville to Alabama’s 7A state championship series and a runner-up finish.
 
Alaska | Curtis Hebert, South Anchorage
Went 3-0 with 34 Ks in 19 no-hit innings on the mound while hitting .403 with 21 RBIs in 21 games; also led South Anchorage to perfect season and back-to-back state championships.
 
Arizona | Gavin Turley, Hamilton
Broke Arizona’s 6A state record with 15 home runs, hit .317 with 72% of his hits going for extra bases plus 14 stolen bases; huge contributor to the success of one of the country’s best teams.
 
Arkansas | Cooper Dossett, Har-Ber
Went 5-0 with 100 strikeouts in 52 innings and a 1.06 ERA on the mound for one of the state’s best while hitting .314 with six home runs, an OPS over 1.100 and 27 RBIs swinging the stick.
 
California | Malcolm Moore, McClatchy
Another impressive spring as he hit over .500 with 13 home runs, 51 RBIs and 49 runs scored to secure back-to-back state player of the year honors; also the top-ranked catcher in the country.
 
Colorado | Camden Ross, Broomfield
Led Broomfield to the 5A State Title. Hit .627 with 11 home runs, 49 RBIs, an OBP of .726 and only struck out 7 times in almost 100 plate appearances.
 
Connecticut | Matt Scott, Joel Barlow
Went 10-0 with 136 Ks in 66 innings against 18 BBs and a 0.32 ERA; also hit over .500 on the year with an OPS over 1.600. Ranked as the top prospect in the state for the 2022 class.
 
Delaware | Andrew Callaway, Delmar
Posted an 8-2 overall record with 83 Ks in 58 innings while establishing himself as one of the top underclass prospects in the state and region.
 
District of Columbia | Nicholas Morabito, Gonzaga College
Led Gonzaga to multiple titles this spring. Hit .545 with 12 home runs, 10 doubles and 6 triples while also stealing 52 bases and getting on base in well over 60% of plate appearances.
 
Florida | Roman Anthony, Stoneman Douglas
Hit .520 with 10 home runs, 14 doubles and 40 RBIs playing one of the tougher schedules in the country; helped lead Stoneman Douglas to back-to-back Florida 7A State Titles and a NSHI title.
 
Georgia | Andruw Jones, Wesleyan School
Hit .570 with 13 home runs, an OPS over 1.700, stole 32 bags and scored 72 times while getting a hit in all 40 games leading Wesleyan to a Class A Private State Title; also added a 10-1 record with 53 Ks in 41 innings on mound. Projected to be drafted in the Top 5 of the 2022 MLB Draft.
 
Hawaii | Dylan Honda, Waiakea
Led Waiakea to an undefeated state title. Struck out 30 in 25 innings on the mound while also hitting .400 on the year.
 
Idaho | Merit Jones, Idaho Falls
Hit .405 with 6 home runs and an OPS of 1.404 to go with 27 RBIs and 40 runs scored while also finishing with a 9-0 record, 1.26 ERA and 73 strikeouts in 55 innings of work on the mound.
 
Illinois | Owen Murphy, Riverside-Brookfield
Selected as the National Two-Way Player of the Year. On the mound, went 9-0 with a 0.12 ERA and 137 strikeouts in 58 innings while throwing 4 no-hitters, 2 perfect games and allowing 10 hits all season; offensively, hit .548 with 15 doubles, 18 home runs, 75 RBIs and 59 runs scored.
 
Indiana | Maxwell Clark, Franklin
Hit .577 with 9 home runs, 32 RBIs and 41 runs scored while also posting 39 strikeouts in 16 innings on the mound; currently ranked as the top prospect in the country in the 2023 class.
 
Kansas | Jackson Lovich, Blue Valley West
Hit .430 with 7 home runs, 34 RBIs and 31 runs scored while helping Blue Valley West to a 23-2 record, the Class 6A State Title and recognition as the top team in the state for the 2022 spring.
 
Kentucky | Patrick Forbes, Bowling Green
Hit .563 with 15 home runs and 13 doubles, 57 RBIs and 67 runs scored while also making 12 appearances on the mound and striking out 61 in just 32 innings; also named Mr. Kentucky.
 
Louisiana | Gavin Guidry, Barbe
Hit .422 with 25 RBIs and 5 home runs for one of the country’s most storied and top programs each year; also went 8-0 on the mound with a 0.16 ERA and 83 strikeouts in 45 innings of work.
 
Maine | Cody Bowker, Thornton Academy
Hit .522 with 14 doubles and 5 home runs, adding 25 RBIs and 40 runs; also went 7-0 on the mound with a 0.47 ERA and 96 strikeouts in just 59 innings. Led Thornton Academy to a Class A state title and top team in the state of Maine.
 
Maryland | Christopher Hacopian, Winston Churchill
Hit .539 with 12 home runs, 41 RBIs and 39 runs scored while also posting an 8-0 record on the mound with a 1.15 ERA and 55 strikeouts in just 41 innings of work.
 
Massachusetts | Thomas White, Phillips Academy
One of the country’s top pitchers, regardless of class; finished with a 6-1 record on the mound, struck out 70 in just 30 innings while posting a 0.21 ERA and allowing just 10 hits on the year.
 
Michigan | Brock Porter, Orchard Lake St. Mary’s
Selected as the National Pitcher of the Year. Went 9-0 with 115 strikeouts in 58 innings, allowed just 9 hits and two earned runs on the year finishing with a 0.24 ERA and .050 BAA for the 44-0 and National Champion Orchard Lake St. Mary’s Eaglets.
 
Minnesota | Kristofer Hokenson, St. Louis Park
Struck out 87 over 48 innings against just 22 hits and a 1.44 ERA for one of the better teams in the state; also hit .339 with 3 home runs, 15 RBIs and 12 stolen bases in just 24 games.
 
Mississippi | Dakota Jordan, Jackson Academy
Hit. 524 with 16 home runs and 57 RBIs while scoring 50 time and reaching base over 63% of the time in 35 games; regarded as one of the top 2022 draft prospects from the state as well.
 
Missouri | Karson Milbrandt, Liberty
Went 7-1 on the mound, striking out 91 hitters in just 50 innings with a 1.66 ERA; has quickly established himself as one of the top draft prospects from the state and entire Midwest region.
 
Nebraska | Camden Kozeal, Millard South
Hit .433 with 6 home runs and 42 RBIs, scored 38 times and stole 18 bags while helping lead Millard South to Nebraska’s Class A State Title game; one of the state’s top 2023 prospects.
 
Nevada | Robby Snelling, McQueen
Was very much in the discussion for National Pitcher of the Year; went 8-0 with a 0.56 ERA while striking out a state record 146 in just 62 innings, including 20 just in a single outing.
 
New Hampshire | Joe Allen, Winnacunnet
Pitched to a 3-2 record but struck out 71 in just 43 innings of work and posted a 1.62 ERA; currently ranked as the top prospect in the state and No. 247 on the PG MLB Draft Board.
 
New Jersey | Alex Kranzler, Old Tappan
Went an impressive 11-0 on the mound while striking out 115 and only walking 19 in 73 innings of work with a 0.57 ERA; also hit .447 with 17 XBHs and 28 RBIs to help Tappan to a 26-5 record.
 
New Mexico | Nolan Perry, Carlsbad
Led Carlsbad to New Mexico’s Class 6A State Title. Went 8-1 on the mound with a 0.26 ERA and 98 strikeouts in 53 innings; also hit a team-leading .465 average with 6 home runs and 30 RBIs.
 
New York | Josh Knoth, Patchogue-Medford
Struck out an impressive 107 in just 45 innings, including a 20-strikeout outing, while giving up just 5 walks and surrendering just 13 hits for a .070 BAA and an 0.80 ERA on the year.
 
North Carolina | Eli Jerzembeck, Providence & Brooks Bannon, Randleman
Jerzembeck was a catalyst for Providence’s undefeated state title run; he went 13-0 with 195 strikeouts in 87 innings and posted a 0.42 ERA. Bannon was immensely impressive over on the offensive end; hit .609 with 70 hits, 20 home runs and 91 RBIs for nationally ranked Randleman.
 
North Dakota | Troy Berg, Dickinson
Hit .442 with two home runs and 15 RBIs, stole 10 bases and only struck out once in over 70 plate appearances across 26 games.
 
Ohio | Jacob Miller, Liberty Union
Went 8-1 with 133 strikeouts in 57 innings while surrendering just 11 walks on the year, posting an ERA of 0.49 and recording more than 77% of his outs via the strikeout throughout the spring.
 
Oklahoma | Jackson Holliday, Stillwater
Selected as the National Player of the Year. Hit .685 with a national record 89 hits which included 29 doubles, 6 triples and 17 home runs to go with his 79 RBIs and scoring 74 times.
 
Oregon | Paul Wilson, Lakeridge
Led one of the top teams in Oregon to the semifinals; went 8-2 on the mound while striking out 155 in 65 innings with just 30 walks and a 0.74 ERA; also hit .358 with 5 home runs and 34 RBIs.
 
Pennsylvania | Kevin McGonigle, Monsignor Bonner
Played a tough schedule and hit .457 with 11 home runs, 47 runs scored and 32 RBIs while also only striking out twice in 27 games; regarded as one of the top 2023 prospects in the country.
 
Rhode Island | Ben Brutti, South Kingstown
Went 7-1 with 105 strikeouts in 46 innings and posted a 0.46 ERA; also established himself as one of the better draft prospects from the region and the top prospect from the state in 2022.
 
South Carolina | Tristan Smith, Boiling Springs
Went 6-1 with 120 strikeouts in 52 innings against just 22 walks and posted a 0.54 ERA; also added a .338 average with 28 RBIs. Is the top pitching prospect in the state for the 2022 class.
 
South Dakota | Benjamin Irsfeld, Roosevelt
Class A State Player of the Year and led Roosevelt to the Class A title. Went 7-0 on the mound with a 0.62 ERA and 52 strikeouts in 34 innings; also hit .333 with 18 RBIs and 10 stolen bases.
 
Tennessee | Carson Rucker, Goodpasture Christian
Division II-A Mr. Tennessee Selection. Hit .541 with 14 home runs and 13 doubles while racking up 77 RBIs and scoring 74 times himself to lead his tame to their respective state title.
 
Texas | Blake Mitchell, Sinton
Led Sinton to 4A State Title and No. 6 National Ranking. Hit .465 with 29 XBHs, 7 home runs, 52 RBIs and 49 runs scored; also went 6-0 on mound, struck out 67 in 35 innings with a 0.40 ERA.
 
Utah | Luke Anderson, Snow Canyon
Led Snow Canyon to 4A state runner-up finish. Hit .562 with 27 XBHs (6 home runs), scored 51 times and drove in 47 while getting on base in almost 70% of his trips to the plate this spring.
 
Vermont | Tanner Wolpert, Rice Memorial
Hit .500 with 6 home runs, 25 RBIs and an OPS over 1.100 while also going 4-2 on the mound with a 1.57 ERA and 68 strikeouts in just 35 innings of work.
 
Virginia | Seth Keller, Hanover
Led Hanover to Class 4 Title. Hit .554 with 10 home runs, 35 RBIs and 38 runs scored while also pitching to a 6-0 record with 75 strikeouts in 36 innings, a 0.58 ERA and just 9 hits allowed too.
 
Washington | Ian Ritchie Jr, Bainbridge
Went 7-0 on the mound with 84 strikeouts against 4 walks in 39 innings and posted a 0.40 ERA as one of the country’s top 2022 pitching prospects; also hit .468 with 4 home runs and 35 RBIs.
 
West Virginia | Atticus Goodson, Independence
Hit .462 with 8 home runs, an OPS over 1.500, 41 runs scored and 19 RBIs; also struck out 66 hitters in 38 innings while racking up 3 wins and posting a 1.84 ERA on the mound.
 
Wisconsin | Mitch Voit, Whitefish Bay
Big on both sides of the ball for the state’s top program. Hit .566 with 5 home runs, 37 RBIs and 27 stolen bases while going 11-0 on the mound with 87 strikeouts in 53 innings and a 0.54 ERA.
